Let's Do This!!!

Summer is waning, the skies are filled with wildfire smoke, and so it must be time to re-embrace our masculinity in the manliest way possible. After 6 years you should all know the deal so I'll keep this brief.

WHAT: 6th Annual Mustache Month
WHO: Any willing to fight the good fight
WHEN: September (or longer if you got the guts)
WHERE: Your upper lip
WHY: Good times, male bonding, and a raging party at the end of the month where you have the chance to celebrate with other like minded individuals.

As always, "Grow them long, wear them proud, and for God's sake keep them waxed!"

Donny M. See’s Upside in Move to El Paso

Having moved from Missoula to Phoenix to El Paso all in a period of less than a year, Donny  M. sees a strategic advantage to his new home.  He explains,

Something about the Montana air, its cooler temps, or maybe just the heavily liberal setting of Missoula seemed to stunt my mustache.  Living in El Paso now, I look forward to my mustache taking on a lil’ bit o’ that Texas swagger.  I’m not saying it will change me as a person, but let’s just say Governor Rick Perry might not be the craziest person in Texas for the next month.

Further, Donny sees the mustache playing a strategic role in helping him bridge the cultural gap with the notoriously mustache-friendly hispanic population that make up 80% of El Paso.  His efforts haven’t been without missteps though.  Frequent visits to It’s About Hair & More on Dyer Street have yielded few results.  Shop owner, Julio Pedroza, explains that despite multiple attempts to explain that the “More” in their name doesn’t include mustache augmentation Donny seems tireless in his request for “needo biggero mustacho nowo pleaso”.

Despite the bumps in the road Donny remains optimistic about his ability to grow a mustache worthy of his new state.  Sounding like he’s already taking on a little of that Texas swagger himself, Donny challenges, “Anyone out there thinkun’ they can do better is putting their boot in the oven but that don't make 'em biscuits”.
