Let's Do This!!!

Summer is waning, the skies are filled with wildfire smoke, and so it must be time to re-embrace our masculinity in the manliest way possible. After 6 years you should all know the deal so I'll keep this brief.

WHAT: 6th Annual Mustache Month
WHO: Any willing to fight the good fight
WHEN: September (or longer if you got the guts)
WHERE: Your upper lip
WHY: Good times, male bonding, and a raging party at the end of the month where you have the chance to celebrate with other like minded individuals.

As always, "Grow them long, wear them proud, and for God's sake keep them waxed!"

Mustache Links and the Like

John Oates almost unrecognizable?
Not a lot of time today seeing as how I'm getting ready for an evening of pushing real Mongolian food through the old soup strainer.  Mmmm...a multiple course meal made entirely of dishes that apparently don't deviate from an ingredient list of lamb, beef, flour, onion, salt, sugar, and water.  Can't wait!  That said, I wanted to throw out a couple links that can provide support to those of you in the early stages of mustache growth.

  • Seattlites may have seen it in person, but only one the most iconic musical mustaches of the last 30 years was in town last weekend as part of powerhouse 70-80s group, Hall & Oates.  Unfortunately, John Oates has apparently gone sans-stache these days.  He even chided the apparently numerous Bumbershoot concert-goers sporting fake 'staches to the show.  Full details can be found here.  Seems like a big mistake for someone with a mustache with enough chutzpah to spawn a cartoon series, games, and a cellphone app.

  • In other mustache related news, Google has apparently released a plug-in for Chrome that uses their face-recognition software to put a mustache on all online images.  How can that be a bad thing?

  • Thank goodness the days of the banning mustaches is over in the MLB otherwise we would have missed out on all of these.
